Anum Fatima's entrepreneurial journey began in 2020, during the quarantine days, when she stumbled upon a video featuring a 17-year-old girl who had initiated her own organic venture. Inspired by this, Anum, who was nearing the end of her MBA program at FAST University in Islamabad, felt a spark within her to make a difference. Witnessing the achievements of others ignited her determination to explore untapped growth opportunities and delve into the world of entrepreneurship.
Like many women entrepreneurs, Anum faced several challenges along her journey. One significant hurdle was the lack of mentorship. Without proper guidance, navigating the complexities of starting and running a business can be daunting. However, Anum turned to digital spaces and books to fill this gap, finding her own way and carving a path to success.
Another challenge Anum encountered was the impact on mental health. The pressure to excel in various aspects of life while balancing business ambitions, familial duties, and personal aspirations took its toll. Despite these challenges, Anum persevered, prioritizing tasks and implementing effective strategies to maintain equilibrium between her business and personal life.
Despite the obstacles, Anum has experienced numerous rewarding moments since starting her business. One particularly memorable incident occurred during a visit to the courier office to send out client orders. There, she struck up a conversation with a woman who admired Anum's products and packaging. Unbeknownst to Anum, the woman turned out to be Marvi Memon, a notable figure. This encounter not only highlighted the support women offer each other but also resulted in a significant order for Anum's brand, reinforcing the impact of female solidarity in entrepreneurship.
